Hummer vehicles first appeared in 1983 when the US military held a public contest to acquire high-mobility vehicles that could be driven on the most adverse terrains and in the most complicated situations. This is how Hummer came to light as the official car of the US army.

They were officially known as the M998 series but were nicknamed Hummer, a type of vehicle that 100% adapted to the needs of the military as it allowed optimal mobility across multiple terrains. THE HUMMER FOR URBAN USE

At first, as we have just indicated, the Hummer was a car designed exclusively for the army but in 1992 the vehicle was designed for civilians with essential features for passenger transport and city driving such as, for example, the installation of seat belts, indicators, more comfortable seats, etc.
